Well, the weather is bad out today so I had time to install a couple of upgrades.
I got the Rockford Fosgate PBR3002 mini amp and Polk Audio DXi6500 6.5" speakers. I didn't use the tweeters that came with the Polk's I used the Hawg Wired snap in tweeters and the crossovers that came with them. Pretty simple install, ran the power and ground under the tank to the battery and ground to the frame. The amp sits above the head unit; I double sided taped it in place, maybe later I'll fab a bracket but it's not going anywhere for now. I set the gain as per the instructions. All I can say is, WOW!!!
Got more than I expected out of the speakers and the amp.
Since my bike is a FLHTP, I would say its a nice upgrade from having nothing.
if u have any trouble, ground to the battery,i know frame is standard with car install, i had some weird issues.called rockford and was advised to go to battery for ground ,its what they recommend for bike install. and yes it rocks.
I was thinking about doing that, but wasn't sure. I'll switch it over in the morning. Is it normal to have the gain set super low? If I turn it up very much its super loud, but cuts out, any idea about that?
