Default Red Line Shockproof Question

Well, I think I screwed up. Some time ago I bought what I thought was the Shockproof Heavy Pepto Bismo looking stuff. When I changed the transmission fluid today the stuff was not pink. It was green. I had purchased the 80W gear oil with Shockproof. It seems much thinner than the pink stuff I used time before last. I checked the website and they say it is "popular for Sportster V-twin transmissions". Can any one tell me if it will be OK to run this? I don't have a local source for Red Line and want to ride. I have a 2007 King.

I hope it's OK, as I changed all my fluids day before yesterday and put it in the transmission. I was surprised at the green color also. Well, it's in there now so I'm gonna run it. Put about 100 mi on it yesterday.

HA - must be something about us S. LA boys gettin the green instead of the pink. Maybe it's all the humidity down here making it moldy looking.

If you look close the green is 80W gear oil, it looks very similar to the transmission oil. Both list "with Shockproof". I would change it out I really like the pink stuff.

Is there a difference between gear oil and transmission oil? I like the pink stuff too. I used it before my indy recommended Amsoil Severe (or something like that). I wanted to go back to the Shockproof, and thought I had purchased it, but I apparently clicked the wrong button on the Racer Parts Wholesale website.

I'll probably change it out in about 10k unless something goes terribly wrong.

Yeah, it's the humidity. I was wanting to try the Redline and was more worried about seeing Shockproof on the label than the viscosity. Oh, well.
