So I installed Vance dresser duals, monster ovals, Arlen Ness big sucker air intake, and Power Commander PCV. Had the PCV sent to me pre-mapped by Fuel Moto for the aforementioned set up on a 2010 Ultra Classic.
So far I love the improvements all around, however I noticed one thing after the upgrades...When I (cold) started my bike when it was still stock, the starter would crank twice, maybe three times and the bike would start. Now since the stage one upgrades, the starter cranks at least 5-6, sometimes more. First, for those of you that have done similar upgrades, is this normal? A result of the increased air intake? And how can I fix it? Change the values pre-2000 rpm on the PCV maybe?
My former 96 now 106 doesn't start any different since upgrading everything.
Actually starts quicker.
I know fuel MOTO is top notch however I'm not convinced that a canned tune is perfect for each different engine.
Your best bet is either a dyno tune or you can datalog how your bikes runs, then send that info to fuel moto for fine tuning.
My mustang was remote tuned. After 6 datalog sessions and nothing but headaches I broke down and got it dynotuned and the car ran incredible so I didn't even chance it with the bike.
I had the same thing after PCV install and dyno tune. Mine also backfired on hot starts. Went back to the tuner and he said he changed the values at startup. No problems after that. I'm sure you can tune that out.
