You have to change the oil for sure and probably should do all three. Not a big fan of using the same oil in all three though.

My HD dealer just told me they are now telling people to use gear oil in the transmissions, I use Brad Penn 20/50 partial syn in the engine, 75/90 full syn in the trans and HD primary+ in the primary.

FYI, I'm using Amsoil full synthetic 20-50 in all 3. I was told this stuff was as good or better than the HD Syn3 and could be used in all 3 with no problem. As I am always trying to be budget savvy, I want to get the most life out of the oil, but at the same time don't want to risk preventable breakdown due to something simple like an oil change.
As post #6 said, I will be doing all of that other maintenance stuff also.
Thanks for responses, I welcome more.

Afterthought:
The reason I wanted to use the same thing in all 3 is so that I can carry a bottle with me at all times just in case. Not 2 or 3 bottles.

After switching to this combo, I have not noticed any major differences in operation, feel, or sound of the bike. All 3 always look good when I change too. I will be sticking with it.

Why throw away good money? Engine oil and filter change before you head out and all three when you return; thats just me though. Your bike your call; whatever makes you comfortable.

Go full-on **** and trade the bike in for a new one....or....
You have the equivalent of about 2200 mi. on your fluids and your trip will add 3800 mi. at most, for a total of around 6K mi.
Just ride the thing - you'll be fine and so will the bike. Change out the motor oil when you return, the rest will be good to go for quite some time yet.
Oh, and get yourself a shop manual. It explains everything, including service intervals.

Personally I would do a complete change about one week before the trip. This will give you a little time to check for leaks. Also make sure you use new o-rings. This is one of those things I wouldn’t be cheap about it and it will give you a piece of mind on the trip.

Have fun on the trip.

I've been "told" a lot of things. I usually do a little studying to see if what I've been "told" is fact or fable. Multi-grade oil works well in motors where most of the stress is in places of rotational stress, or sliding stress (bushings, bearings, rocker interface, etc.) Transmissions, on the other hand, are applying some serious shear forces to larger pieces of metal (gear teeth). I'd look at an independent report on shear force ratings on any lubricant I put in a gear box.

I completely understand that thinking, been there at one time.

Here's something to think about.
1. When was the last time you had to top off the primary or tranny?

2. There are oils specially designed for each application, might as well use that technology for you ride.

3. Cost-wise they are similar, no savings to speak of.

With three very different applications, an internal combustion engine, a gear box, and a clutch, there cannot be one oil that is best in all, acceptable is the best you can hope for. Seems like a compromise to me for a convenience that never really materializes.
