Default What would you do?

I have a 2010 RKC and I'm running Amsoil Synthetic in engine, tranny and primary.

I currently have 3500km on these fluids since spring change. They still look perfect.
I have a 5000-6000km trip planned for end of August. I will probably have another 1000 km on it before I leave.

Would you:
1- Change all fluids now(month before trip)
2- change all after the trip(approx 10000km on fluids)
3- Change engine oil before trip and other 2 after trip
4- or your suggestion

This is going to be all highway on this trip obviously, but I'm not sure I feel comfortable letting the engine oil getting up to 10000 km so I'll probably change it before, but the other 2 I don't know...???

This is my first ever long trip on the bike. All helpful hints welcome.

#3- Change engine oil before trip

I change my own engine oil (mobile1) every 2500-3000 miles. Keeps the oil companies in business LOL

Change all the fluids. Its not that much more expensive than just the motor oil.

Change all 3 just before the trip. And when you do, put Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof in the transmission. You'll be glad you did.

A week before -
Change all fluids before a trip of that length... peace of mind.
Do all adjustments including neck bearing, drive belt & clutch
Check tires, brake pads, all the lights, horn, etc
Torque, tighten & check all fasteners you can get a wrench on

Nothing ruins a good long trip like a break down on the road.

#3 would do, but I'd change them all and do it at least a couple of weeks before the trip to make sure all is well with the bike before the trip. But that's just me. Have a good trip.

10,000 Km = 6213.712 miles. Dyno oil is recommended for change at 5000 miles. Synthetics should go 7500 miles, or 12070.08 Km. I assume you changed to a high quality synthetic for it's improvements in protection & mileage. Your money, throw it away as you please.
