I’m purchasing a new Ultra Limited and being vertically challenged need it lowered at least one inch. Has anyone installed a lowering kit or changed the rear shock to accomplish this?
I also have a limited 2010 I lowered it 1 inch. A buddy of mine bought the slam kit to lower his and the angle of the shocks damaged the saddle bags as the shocks sit at a different angle.
It all depends on how much you want to spend. You can buy lowering brackets anywhere from about $25.00 to over $100.00. If you want to go the shock route you could buy a pair of take off street glide shocks for as little as $50.00 or you can buy new 12' Progressive 412's for around $200.00 or buy their 940's for around $475.00. If you really want to step up to the pump you can look at Olins or Works.
Thats pretty much it....if you have deep pockets spend it....if you want a simple and effective fix go with a kit like the Road 6 Customs kit which is the route I went........(no deep pockets here).
