Sturgis 2012
Nope. Most I have been in are set up as a bar and dining hall for the public. The Post is the local or regional meeting place for the members.
If you do mt rushmore on a wed u should go sw into wyoming and then turn north along teton mountains, go to sundance for the burn outs. Sorry i dont have map to give better directions with me now.
Leave early or sit and wait in line, last year they made a new enterance and exit route for bikes only-thank God a lot easier now.
(+) on the pay shower/******** at the Chip-if you are staying there.
If you're staying at the Chip and wanna sleep at night- drink heavily late into the evening and were ear plugs to bed!
Stop at the Stone House for a beer when heading to Devil's Tower-don't bother to go up close to the tower, just take some pics at the parking area. -Always run into smokies on the way to the Tower as well as Broken Spoke!
Stay with your group, tend to see the onesies and twosies bikers getting pulled over versuses bikes in a group.
Do not spped out of Sturgis anywhere, especially when heading towards the Chip.
(+) on utilized back streets in an out of Sturgis.
Stamper jewlery in Rapid City for the ladies-can be done on same day if going to the HD there.
I've seen plenty of juggs, (stop by our camp site-it's the one with the "official boobie board", no fights but plenty of people who are having a blast.. but we always spend our evenings at the Chip, so not sure what happens downtown.
Stop at Bridal Showers along Spearfish for a pic of you and the lovely lady.
For a cool (slightly out of the way) stop, hit Moon Shine Gulch for a burger, beer, and burnout! (Two years ago we met the owner of Boss Hoss, he and 5 other guys (all riding Boss Hosses) did the traditional burn outs leaving town...dude it was bad-***!
One Eye'd Jacks is my choice of venue for breakfast and babes.
Always watch out for oncoming traffic, seen some bad stuff happen to good people from oncoming traffic.
Seen hail and dry heat in the same day, so bring a little of this and a little of that to wear. If you notice bad weather don't wait to pull over, get your *** off the road and wait it out.
No need for bug spray, but bring the sun screen would be a recommendation.
They take a pic everyday (I think it happens twice a day at noon and five) of the crowd in the street of downtown Sturgis. You can (usually in 15 minutes) go to one of the local shops (a few blocks down) and purchase a print, or have the pic put on a tee-shirt.
I have never been to Crazy Horse-always heard it wasn't worth the time, but after reading a pervious post we may have to stop by?
Hill City is always a great stop for a beer too, one of the bars has this old-cat that stands 7 feet (+) tall.
I hope to see you all there. Be safe and have a hell of a good time.
Just spent my 2-cents
