Default 880 Metzelers and dyna beads

I'm looking for some advice with a vibration issue after putting on 880 Metzelers and trying dyna beads for the first time. The bike is a 2010 Street Glide, 130/70-18 front and 180/65-16 rear.

I did the rubber change myself with standard tire tools. The rear was a real challenge and I'm now wondering if I tweaked the rear rim in the process. Doesn't seem possible but at this point I looking at everything. I installed the prescribed amount of beads (2 oz. each wheel) and was careful to keep the inside of the tire clean.

The vibration becomes noticeable at 60 mph and down right dangerous at 80 mph and above. Wondering if anyone has run accross this same problem and if so what did you find.

Thanks for the help.

I run them and they work great. My dealer put them in and sugested that you are better off putting in three ounces, thier expieriance is that not all were balancing out with two especially with the larger back tires. Im happy with the results. They put them in and didnt charge me for balancing just the cost of the beads, this was a harley dealer.

Thanks! I wondered about that during the install. It didn't make sense that if 2 oz went in front how could 2 be enough for the rear given the significant volume difference. Did you do 3 in both front and rear?

I did 2 front and 3 rear in mine and am very happy with it. Did you put the paint dot on the tire at the valve stem.

Yes, paint dots are lined up with the valve stems and rotation is correct. I didn't mention that this is a tube less application and the Metzelers have a raised grid pattern on the inside. I've wondered if the beads are getting hung up in the grid pattern and not moving where they need to because the vibration seems to vary to a degree depending on how fast I accelerate. Just ordered more beads and will start with adding another 1 oz to the rear for a total of 3. Thanks for your help!

Not familiar with the grid on the inside. Sounds like it could be an issue. Good luck with it. I think getting the beads out and containing them might not be so easy.

It's not your bike, the world is wobbling. All you can do is hold on and ride it out.

My bike had a wobble after putting a new tire on, the suspension was feeling a little stiff as well. I softened up the suspension, it rode much better and the wobble was gone too. Try adjusting your suspension and see if that helps.
