Thanks for the comments. I am leaning towards the 2012. 1) I can ride for 3 weeks while on vacation and not wait till January, 2) it already has mods I would be doing anyway, 3) 2013 is ordered thru ENCS and delivered to dealer where the 2012 is straight from the dealer. The dealer offers discounts on parts and accessories for as long as I own the bike if purchased from them. 4) I am like a kid before Christmas and want to open my presents early.

Thought the deals through the military were far better than a dealer could touch. Surprised #'s are close enough to discuss. Is there haggling with military or they just give you a # take it or leave it?

How much of the original parts did you keep for the FB? Could you take the parts off, trade the bike, and sell the parts separately?

@Dew Me--The $21255 from ENCS includes North Carolina tax, title, and license. $20528.50 is the price before TTL on the 2013 but includes dealer prep etc. That is a no haggle price from military sales. The $22500 from dealer on the 2012 includes TTL. I have decided to keep the Fatbob for now. If I sell, it will be to an individual where I can get more than I would on a trade. I may take a few parts off that are multi-fit and put on the SG.

@Phil--I am still trying to get a better deal. I Am making a counter offer on Monday. Should be done dealing one way or another by Monday night. I guess I can always ride the FATBOB on my vacation, but I would rather be on the SG.

OK, so what do you figure the value of the extras are to you? Don't include any labor if you would have otherwise done the work yourself? Say it is $1,200 and the price of the two bikes is exactly the same. So the same price for a 2013 as a 2012, and you already own a bike? I go for the 2013.

Next part of the question: Is the 2012 in the color you want? 2013 you can pick any color you want. Edge 2013

Does the 2012 have the components YOU would choose? header, pipes, tuner? If not edge 2013

Plus, there is an unknown here: For another 3 weeks we don't know the changes for 2013 besides color. Rarely a step backward. 2010 did have two steps backward. One of them got remedied the next year (duel exhaust) and the other was a cat. So since there is rarely a step backward 2013 again gets the edge.

I agree with WireDawg, you have to get a much better deal on the 2012 to make it appetizing. That just might be hard since they are competing with military discount. BTW, does the dealer know you are military? If not then maybe they can find some extra incentive or discount that hasn't surfaced yet.

I got a quote from a local dealer for $22500 out the door on a 2012 (new) with dealer installed Fullsac ceramic header, RC Components Exhaust (chrome)' Race Tuner, and SE Heavy Breather and includes full Dyno tune at the 1000 mile service. I can pick this up and ride for 3 weeks on my vacation in August. Both bikes have ABS, Security, and cruise. What would you do if you had this choice to make? Also would like your thoughts on the prices. I did make one hard decision and that was to keep my 08 Fatbob instead of trading. Your input is appreciated.
I used military sales prices to buy the bike you see in the sig pic back in december. I didnt want to wait until they delivered the bike so the dealer gave me the one on the floor for the exact same price. they also told me the same thing that for basically $1200 more, they would do a stage 1 upgrade to the bike. After doing some research, i decided AGAINST letting them do anything to the bike because they really werent giving me a deal except for on labor. Since then, I have purchased some CVO takeoffs, a SE Heavy Breather, Cobra true duals head pipe, and a PC-V with autotune all for about $1000 (bought PC-V setup used on ebay and got the Cobras new for $250 on ebay as an open box special). Picked up the CVO mufflers for $225 on ebay brand new (gutted them out and bought some fulsac CVO cores) and got the SE Heavy Breather for $240 shipped during one of the Surdyke specials. So I saved myself $200 on everything based on dealer cost and used that to buy a set of Andrews TW-7H cams and a 4* advance gear (also bought on ebay for $300 shipped).

The way they are gonna get you in the future is with that damn race tuner and the dyno times when you add something new such as cams plus you cant ever trust that they will ever get the tune right. At least with the autotune if you go that route, it will get the tune within 90-95% perfect. Get a 2012 if you can from ENCS and pick it up and ride it stock while you are home and the use the time between when you come back from vacate and the time you come home for good to shop around for the stuff you want to add on to the bike. At a MINIMUM you will get 20% from various online retailers and once you get it all, buy you a service manual, a tool set, and a case of beer and do the work yourself in January. It aint like its gonna be the middle of riding season and you wont have the time to do it. Also, then you know that it will be done right and you will have learned some about your bike and will appreciate it a little more. Just my $.02 totally based off experience.

I bought my RK through ENCS. Turns out dealer could have come very close to price, only diff was the extended warranty which sealed it for me so I decided to wait. I ordered in August and got in November. I guess it all depends how much dealer is willing to work with you

The dealer in my hometown quoted me a price on a stock 2013 very close to the ENCS price. He will have it on the floor before I get home. I will probably end up going with 2013 from there. Saves me the 1 1/2 hour trip to the other dealership and I get the newer model. Plus, I found out the 2012 with the mods does not have cruise. He wants to charge me an additional $395.
