Cool Comfy

#1 is to look cool. #2 is to, aw fergit it. #1 is all you need. Make a list of all your cool friends, if you have any, and let the chosen one direct you to the proper way to atain "THE LOOK." Once #1 is dialed in, nothing else is important.

I kept having pain between my shoulders. I bought a backrest and shoved it up against me as tight as I could and it got rid of my pain.

Pullback is 11 inches,if I remember right that was about the most pullback I could find when I was doing my research.

I have to agree one of the first things I did to my ride was put on a backrest. Then it was the highway pegs. One thing to remember though the best riding position for your body is the upright, feet on the floorboard ride as I read Harley did extensive research in this area. Also, I know it sounds dumb but take your wallet out of your back pocket, that can cause pain as well in your back. I usually alternate a lot during riding due to some back positions and I "lock" if in one position too long. So best advice is to allow yourself to adjust in different positions over longer rides.

I bought my 1990 bike new, when it was not as fashionable as it is today to just keep throwing new bars at a bike. I also had shoulder problems, on longer rides. What I came to realise when test riding other Harleys is that they all seem to have the bars set too high for my liking.

So I simply rolled my stock bars towards me a little, a bit at a time. That not only brings them closer, but also a little lower and alters the angle of the grips. After a few adjustments I got things just right. Been riding the bike in blissful comfort ever since!

So stop, take a deep breath and reason this through. Apes are for apes. If you want to get comfortable refit your stock bars and take the time to adjust them just so. You might be pleasantly surprised!

All I can say is there are alot of us devoted Ape riders out there. I can tell you if and when I trade my Ultra the next bike will have Apes on it before I take delivery. It seems for alot of us any forward downward move with the arms causes muscle pain in the neck or back.I guess we all just have to figure out what works for our bodies.

ya c908 im a dye hard ape guy rode them for years and when i got this one that was the first thing to go on but something is dif with the electra glide, im thinking that since the frame sits up instead of sloping up ward and that u cant push the bars forward that taller might not be the way to i got 14 u got 12s and the more i look at it im not liking the pull back thinging less angle back puts my striaght untstead of angled so im thinking since i got the cables im gona try a 13 with less pull back and c what happpens, with my old bike i went through four bars before i found the one that was perfect, ill get there im sure just hate spending money unless u know for sure it will work but i have found with hanlde bars u cant tell until u try it, so later on u might find a set of new wild chubbys 14 hanger for sale hahahah thanks for the help again

Back pockets should be empty any time you are sitting. Barring that, here's an option that will help. Also, cleaning out one's wallet of everything not absolutely mandatory helps as well. I have no connection, for full disclosure, other than owning two of their wallets and really liking them.
