Has anyone ever thought of adding a sub to their aftermarket stereo system. I quickly looked on Crutchfield and they have a 5 1/4" component sub. I was wondering of putting it in one side of the rear speakers on an Ultra. Just trying to bounce ideas.
5 1/4 ?? BIG waste of time. Unless you are going to use something like a 10" or larger, you're wasting your time.
You'll like the sound of a quality, highly amplified 6 X 9 better.
I am glad the resident expert has chimed in so early in the thread.
Really?
I always heard that at speed alot of sound drowns out so I was thinking of a sub, but a decent 6x9 with sound good?
I am looking at the HD lids on their website but it looks like they are already pre drilled for Boom speakers? I wonder how the fitment would be with a spkr other than the Boom?
I think that Carl has said that Hybrid is in the process of making a 'drop-in' speaker for the Harley lids.
That would be worth the wait !!
You are correct,..........at speed, you will lose a lot of the sound that is made in the bags. However, the passenger would benefit more from the Harley lids, due to the angle of the speaker.
