Default Heat

Guys installed the Vance and Hines pd... Wuz thinking that would CUT down on the heat but DAMN it's pretty damn hot on the right side by the passenger floor board... I know it's air cooled but I need some relief... Any suggestions. Thinking captain itch but not sure if that's the answer. Holla

It's the nature of the beast. Captain itch males a crotch cooler, and his leather products are as good as they come but it's an air cooled bike and we sit right on top of the engines so you will have to get used to some heat.

1.) Get the Capt. Itch crotch cooler.
2.) Get 1" passenger foot peg/floorboard extensions.

Even if it were water cooled it would still be hotter than hell, your sitting on top of 103 cubic inches....just keep her moving, is what I keep telling myself, keep her moving..

Why are the guys from the north complaining about the heat off their bike? Try sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on a summer day in Texas. I do it every day. You'd realize it's not as hot as you think it is

Like Tucci said, keep it moving and all is good.

I had to ride 2 weekends here in Indiana, put on 500 miles each weekend, and I have to say the heat from my bike was not bad, but it is just a 95" motor, I think I will keep er for a long time.

Default FUEL CooLs

I notice you said you change your exhaust ...

Have you added Fuel to the mix.. I use a gen 4 tuner by Dobecks (beta)

I can add fuel on the low speed side that Really cools the motor... Running my AFR at 13.25 Does cool it down. Then when up to speed, I have it programmed to give me 14.0 AFR OR where ever I set it.. The Dobeck AFR gauge show where your bike's AFR is at all times. Neat !!

My thinking on cooling Your bike : add some fuel and it Will run a little cooler

I also run synthetic oil (redline), have a 6 row thermostatic controled Jagg side mounted oil cooler (left side down tubes) on my 09 King.

Se 255 cams/SE air/V&H slip-ons both are equal sized internally

Notice I'm in HOT Az. and ride year around... Not too much heat off my bike.

Does your rider wear Protective clothing LIKE full length Jeans (no shorts allowed on my bike)

signed....REDHEAD

Yep, its a big air-cooled V-twin so it's gonna be hot. As everyone else has said, unrestricted exhaust, more air intake, and some adjustments to the mixture, plus some other add-ons and proper riding attire make it more bearable.
