What is the stock primary gear ratio ona 92 fatboy?
What rpm do you run after swapping to a 3.37 gear at 60/75mph with a 5 speed?

Default RE: S&S?

My mechanicmodifiedthe stockCV carb onmy '97 RK and just couldn't evertune all of the "hiccups" out of it....I've read that it could be done and would run well but my mechanic and I just couldn't get done....so....he suggested an S&S Super E.

Now, he's been a scooter wrench since the 70's and his brother, who just retired from drag racing Harley's with world records under his belt (and is his own mechanic too) both prefer the S&S carbs...

He installed the S&S and I tuned it per instructions - which are easy to understand and do, just takes some riding time- and it's been great ever since. The carb has the idle rpm, idle mixture, and throttle pump adjustments all on top for easy access without removing the air cleaner cover. Changing the main jet is a breeze - but will probably never be needed and the intermediate jet requires the bottom of the carb be removed, no big deal, just more time...good thing is that when they are ordered, S&Ssets themup with the "right" jets for the size engine they are going on and only the fine tuning with the easy to reach controls isall that is necessary but they do include larger and smaller jets so you can dial it in as your needs require...Oh, and they are American Made!

Hiccups are gone....throttle response is good....it's easier to start....and gets better gas mileage too !

I Like it !

I went from stock to Mikuni HS-40to S&S Super E on my80-inchEvo. The Mikuni had better throttle response but wouldn't stay in tune. The S&S is a "set it and go" carb. I've never had to fool with it after the initial set-up. I also hear good things about theEdelbrock carbs.
