got a clearview today. It was sealed very well with plastic. so well in fact that I had a heck of a time getting it to peal off. when the plastic did come off it left behind larges streaks of glue type substance affixed to the shield. any Ideas on how to remove it. I tried the Hot towel trick and it didnt work at all.,

Bought one for my RSV. Even called to change the order and had the vent installed. Used the shield for over 20K miles without any problems. Took it off and put the factory shield back on when I traded for my HD and gave the ClearView to my friend for his RSV. I'll be ordering one for my Ultra this winter or spring.

Thumbs up

Bought a Clearview Shield on a previous bike, circa 2008 or so. Excellent quality. You have to wait for this quality, so you need to have a sense of patience. Otherwise, you can sift through the 'blemished" offers and from what I hear, there are some great bargains to be had.

In the end - excellent shield, perfect craftmanship, etc. Worth the wait. Order it in say November, during the start of the "offseason", and the "wait" won't be so painful.

One tip though: Be extremely selective about the height. Top of the windshield should be right about even with your mouth, so you can just see forward OVER the shield, but just enough so. The deflection will be optimised then, and direct the air up and over your head... and your passengers!. If too low, you'll get buffeting, and so will your pillion, etc.

Sorry about that issue...we had a few "extra sticky" batches of masking and have fixed the problem. In your case, if you will use Isopropyl alcohol with a microfiber, it'll dissolve easily with no elbow grease required. Sorry again and let me know how it works out for you...

Have a great week all

Great Shields, great service. Received my light tint 9.5" recurve for my new 2013 Ultra Limited 110th Anniversary 4 days after ordering it online.

Thanks Mark,

I had excellent customer service through Long Ride Shields. Good pricing and called and talking to someone on the phone to figure out what I wanted. Was perfect for me and fast shipping to go with competitive prices. Traded the bike and the shield went with it as I went from a batwing to a shark. Would not hesitate to buy from them again though.
