Default Supertrapp stouts installed

So I finally got some sound for the bike... my first impressions are I love the deep rumble and the look of the 4" tips is great, that said once I remove the cat I think I will have to change out to the old style cores or its going to be a bit on the loud side. The only thing I can find wrong with them is the gap from the heatshield... anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this? the pipes are pushed in as far as they go and are evenly aligned... is this something that would be solved with new head pipes? Thanks

Its a common problem with aftermarket pipes and had the same problem with my Jackpots.

I too have the stouts, love them. And yup, I have that same gap. You don't notice it so much after a while. The sound has mellowed since I installed them 8 months or so ago. Then end caps, I wish they had a black option though, they get fouled fast.

Just put mine on a few weeks back ('09 catless). I was surprised by how loud they were when accelerating, but they are almost as quiet as stock when cruising.I have the same tips too and I think they look real nice. Very happy with them so far.

I have the stouts as well. Love them! They do foul pretty quick though. 1,800 miles and tips look black...uggh. Oh just thought about it, anyone else have one side dirtier than the other. My left one is alot blacker than the right. Sorry for thread jack, but just thought about it while on the topic of the pipes lol.

Yup, the left is darker quicker than the right. When I installed them I looked through them and noticed they were assembled differently. Do a search for supertrapp stout assembled incorrectly, something like that, I posted pix of the left vs the right, looking through them. I now don't think anything is wrong with them but its interesting to see.
