Oil filter leak

Default Oil filter leak
I have a 2011 FLHTK with just over 20,000 miles. I have now changed the oil and oil filter twice myself. I can't seem to stop it from leaking oil. I have never had this problem with any other Harley I have owned. Can anyone explain what might be causing the problem and how to stop it? It is not a lot of oil but enough to be noticed and irritating.

Were is it coming from? The filter or the ms oil plug?

The leak appears to be coming from the oil filter.

oil cooler adapter ?

cooler oil line clamps?

you can use drugstore spray-on foot powder to find the source of a leak.

Actually I had this on mine too after about the 3rd oil and filter change and the dealer said there was a problem with the oil filter adapter that mounts to the engine and they replaced mine under warranty.

My bet is on this one (oil cooler adapter ?) I had the same problem with my 2010 FLHTK and it was the two bolts on the oil cooler adapter. Tighten them up and all has been well.

The filter will leak if you tighten it too much as well.

Is there 2 gaskets stuck together 1 from the new & 1 from the old?
