Rgr that. We tend to quiet our way out of our civilian neighborhood prior to throttling back and cranking up the tunes with the sound system she has. She swears my '11 SG makes more noise than her '10 Street Glide Trike. They're the same system, right?
i keep mine quite on post then rock that bitch as soon as i exit the gates....lol alot of my friends think its outragious that its louder then their cars....
I agree with the thoughts about the passive xover.
Adding a sub is only going to do so much, and then only at lower speeds. Your biggest improvement will be replacing the fairing speakers with something really good, then socking them with a lot of clean power. This should be priority one. Next ditch the HK head unit for something better. Only THEN, consider the subwoofer.
I have buttkickers in my theater seats and its is what I would call AMAZING for both movies and audio tracks. You can crank it up to a volume where your ears won't bleed but "feel" the music like its REALLY cranked up. Everyone I show them to is amazed. Don't think they would work well on a bike, but highly recommend them for any movie room.
Oh,..I've got ideas !! I was just trying to be practical !
Your wallet is your only limit !!
Glace - wallet? Brother all I wanna be is somewhere close to you! You're system rocks and I know you understand all there is. Crossover for the fairing system to the bass, ideas? Bass speaker? I was looking at the RF shallow as an idea. Looking for your help bro.
If you get an amp that has a dedicated subwoofer channel, you will have the xover you need. My JL Audio amp has this feature.
Shakey
Shaky, thanks - that's exactly the alternative I was looking for. Although I'm now thinking of building my own crossover system for exactly what I want. Easier to buy the amp. Hum, lazy verses work. Yup, that was easy.
