After I finally decided that I was going to trade in my 2006 Street Bob on a '12 RK, I got everything together, went down to the dealer that offers military pricing and then froze when I saw the SG. I spent more time debating with myself and test riding both the SG and RK before I finally decided on my SG. When I brought her home, my wife was confused. She said "that is not the bike that you have been showing me pictures of for the past two years".
They are both great bikes and I would have been happy either way. No regrets.

I've had my SG about an equal number of years and miles as my RKC and I love both bikes. But if someone offered me a choice between a brand new SG or RKC at a price my wife would say OK, I think I would take the SG. The RKC is actually a more comfortable ride, but there is a cool factor with the SG I can't describe.

Funny thing about Harleys, strangers come out of nowhere to look and ask about your bike. But the difference between the two bikes is that women mostly came up to me on the RKC, men mostly on the SG. Something about the SG that pulls at a man's soul.

The OP would not have made the statement if it were not true, and indeed it is a case of Buyers Remorse.
Sometimes ya gotta read between the lines.

You're not a Harley guy, you sound like a woman. Are you my wife? And if you are my wife, I still can't read your mind.

I bought the RK....and almost immediately wished I had an SG....my solution was a fairing that I can remove if I chose to...but I never do...like the tunes and windscreen. If I did it again, I still think I would go with the SG. For a second bike...why would you want another tourer anyway? I'd want something completely different as my BA bike.

Enjoy the ride and just think of it as a "grass is always greener" type thing. You got a great bike.
Good god, how did I know I ws going to hear from you on this one. lol

Actually, in my opinion, you have that backwards. The SG, with it's lower suspension, passenger seat, pegs instead of boards for the passenger, is more of a boulevard cruiser. While the RK, even without a radio, is designed more for the open road.

Either bike will do what you want. But my RK is way more comfortable to ride on longer rides. Just ask my daughter's boyfriend. He will not ride his SG the same distance I will ride my RK in a day. And he's half my age. His 2006 SG has around 12,000 miles on it. My RK will be a year old on the 23rd of this month and I've already got over 16,300 miles on it. I ride it daily to work and back so it handles city streets just fine. But when I go for a "short ride" on my days off, that's usually around 200 miles or better.

LOL, you knew there was no way I was going to pass this post up!!! Seriously though, The SG is a great bike and you are gonna get lots of good riding done on that bike. Resale is unbelievable on them as well, even the 06's are still pulling in premium prices. Enjoy the ride!
