I ride a 2011 FLHX and two years ago I put V&H slash oval slip-ons on it. From the start I did not like the sound but everyone told me to ride it awhile and they would get louder. Long story short I am still not happy with the sound at idle. Going through the gears and on the road the sound is somewhat acceptable. Can anyone give me any advice as to which slip-ons will give me that Harley rumble at idle?
If you like louder its easier than if you want quieter. The CFRs, Rinehart are a good place to start. Of course your gona need some disposable $ or a great resale scenario until you find exactly what you want. Kept those for 2 yrs wow now that patience.
I have CFRs on my 2010 RKC with stock head pipes (due to conflicting funding priorities) and I think they sound great. If you are ever around 'Hot Rods', and know that rumbling sound that Steve Earle sang about - that is what you get from CFRs!
Be happy to try to send you a video, I am far from having the patience to figure out how to post one on here.
