Default FLHX windsields

Looking for a new windshield for my street glide. Want something that looks good but pushes the wind away from my head. Looked at Klock Werks and a friend has the windvest. Anyone use something else that they like?

Thanks

You might find that the batwings, or whatever they are called, help more.

I prefer Fast Aire Aero http://www.fastaire.com/Aero.html

Klock Werks look goofy and Windvests are easy to crack (it says so right in the instructions)

I’ve tried all but two of these:

aerodynamics- the bigger the hole your try to push through the air, the more drag and the more buffeting the rider experiences as air comes from below, the sides and the rear to fill the low pressure zone in the cockpit.

it is a balancing act of priorities.

I use stock windscreens cut down to desired size with a rotozip ( cut the bottom, hidden edge)- and can usually buy them from 'upgrading' riders for about $35

I cut the windscreen so that the top edge appears to intersect the road about 40' in front of the bike.

when I go to a lower seat, i swap to a lower windscreen.

the wind blast hits just about where my hairline used to be, most of the bugs and grit sail over my head.
when in hostile territory & i have to wear a helmet, I have a HD branded 1/2 with a little ducktail at the rear- this is the only helmet I've ever had that didn't bobble or pull up on the strap.

I also have adjustable vents on the fairing sides, I find that directing air INTO the cockpit -at my chest- reduces the amount of uncontrolled air coming in from below the rear or the sides.

I use the HD 7" wind splitter on my 07 SG.. like Mkguitar; I have adjustable fairing vents.. a good, workable combination that works for me.

Seems as though the windshields are only a part of the bobble head solution.

Depends on how tall you are, your seat, handlebars, speeds, and perhaps the phase of the moon.

My best results has been with a slightly taller windshield that throws air just at the top of my helmet, combined with fork mounted Harley wind deflectors.

8" Long Ride Ultra Flip worked for me.
