vance and hines
Hi, hope im in the right area. I have 2011 streetglide with Vance and Hines round slash cut mufflers(slip ons). I purchased the quiet inserts to cut down the muffler noise, The problem that Im having is removing the baffle so that i can install the insert I've tried just about every and still they wont budge.I remove the 2 bottom screws sprayed it with w-40 bang them with a rubber mallet and nothing they only have about 300 miles on them. I have that same muffler and like it the way it is. Try ear plugs and save yourself a lot of grief. Don't mean to be a smart a$$, but it is an alternative that works. I used ear plugs when I had a V&H Pro Pipe.

Take the slip on with the two bolts off, put a 2x4 on the floor, now gently in an up and down motion slam the back end of the pipe against the block of wood. After a few taps the baffle will slip out the end....repeat for other side. Coat the inside with anti-seize compound inside the pipe prior to installing the new baffle so you wont have to struggle with it again.
