HDPLUS Ipod installation with "Ezzell" mounting bracket
Looking for instructions, tips, pictures, etc. on installing the custom made bracket from forum member "Scott Ezzell." This bracket allows mounting of the HDPLUS IPOD Interface under the radio unit, within the fairing. Currently have the BOOM Audio set-up with the Boom Amp mounted on top of the radio.
I just installed the bracket from Scott last week. it was really easy. My ipod interface will be here tomorrow and it should just slip right in. I already have the CB module mounted underneath. It is pretty self explanatory..it has four prongs that go in the existing rubber grommets where the modules usually sit and then it uses the two screws in the back of the radio to hold it in place. You have to supply your own machine screws to hold the modules in the new position. I used 10-32 x 3/8 and they worked fine. My Fosgate PBR300x2 went right on top although you can only use two of the four pre drilled holes unless you drill two new ones

Scott offers three brackets. The one you want is a newer version that mounts using the four radio screws to hold a bracket that sits below the radio and provides the holes uses to secure the ipod, XM, CB, etc. Modules.
I got one of the first and it works perfectly. I chose this bracket because I mounted two RF 300x4 amps directly atop the HK radio.
Previously, I used the original bracket mentioned by jacksradio; also and excellent product.

Would it be possible to see a picture if how you have everything in the fairing? I am looking at mounting two 300x4 or one 300x4 and one 300x2 amps and am curious how they will fit after I relocate my cb module.
I doubt that I have pictures easily accessible. The only two requirements are to dremel the cups that secure the speedo and tach gauges to provide adequate depth to mont the amps lengthwise; and run the 10 ga.power and ground wires along the interior of the inner fairing similar to much of the wiring inside the fairing.
If you like, send me a pm with your phe number and I'll be happy to walk you through the process.
