No its brutal in there. Change the fluid as often as you do the oil (I do 3k oil changes). If you understood what that oil is responsible for lubricating you would change it more frequently. Keep in mind that fluid never gets filtered.....I know right!

I agree with Tucci... Change the primary fluid at every service. The primary fluid will look worse than any other fluid because of the clutch. As the clutch wears the particulates from the clutch friction material end up in the oil. That is what causes it to look so dark upon changing. The more you use the clutch (i.e., low speed friction zone manuevers), the faster the oil will become contaminated with particulates from the clutch.

OK the primary had the fluid the dealer put in right before i bought it not sure what they used .
I put Mobile-1 v-twin T10w40 rated for wet clutch in primary this time .
I use Mobile-1 20w50 v-twin in crankcase .
I change this every 4000 to 5000 miles .
Is this intervule ok for primary with the synthetic oil?

I use Mobile-1 75w140 in the tranny and change every 9000 to 10,000 miles.

You're good! The only thing I do differently is I use 20W-50 in the primary. I know a lot of guys say you don't need "the best" oil for the primary. I tend to disagree. The compensator see's tremendous loads on it and I want the best oil and the 20W-50 weight for that reason.

I've used 20-50 Royal Purple in everything for years. Runs a little cooler and have had no issues what so-ever.

I've been putting Rotella T6 in my primary. I wish Rotella made a single grade in the 50w & 60w sadly they do not. I think gear oil in the primary is not a good idea...what about everyone else?
