That's what I was saying to myself this morning after I pulled into the parking lot at my office and got off my bike.
My left saddle bag lid was open, completely flipped open. Apparently I didnt close it right last night and didnt notice this morning. 20 mile commute, half back country roads, the other half 70+ mph highway. I thoroughly checked it out after having a slight heart attack followed by the ego-busting feeling. Doesnt seem to be any damage, scratches or anything. Just a hurt ego.
Just thought I'd share and at least get some MORE laughs, ones that I know of, not the ones of the other commuters that I didn't know of.
It could have been worse. It could have rained that day.
Nah that's not being a tool, Stuff just happens. Being a tool is being an AH and most of the time the individual doesn't even know their being one.....unless their married, then the Mrs will tell them
Be glad you don't have older model - riding with a buddy, he on an 1989 FLHTC - after gas, we get up to speed and his saddlebag lid flies by me and proceeded to bounce down the road behind me. No hinge, just latches and completely removable.
I left the trunk unlatched after getting my helmet out last week. Noticed it in the mirror right before I got on the highway. Just set the cruise and reached back to latch the front one and kept going.
Happens to a lot of people, including myself. But the other day I was at a dealer, Waugh in VA, and a guy on a blue and black Limited took off with his left saddlebag open. I tried to flag him down but he never looked in his rear view mirrors. Hope nothing broke, he was headed to WVa I think.
Stuff happens. Just keep an eye on it from now on. An event like that will jog your memory from now on, and you'll find you're checking it all the time. Don't beat yourself up. We've all done some of those "I don't want to tell anyone" tricks. :~)

Hey, **** happens. At least your wallet, your spare pair of glasses, or your
Subway sandwich order didn't go bouncing down the freeway.
