Just wondering if anyone has a Corbin seat with a different backrest than those corbin ovals. Wanted to get a corbin with a backrest for the wife on my SG, but the look of those ovals just doesn't work for me. Any suggestions/pics would be great.

This is a shot of my old RK with a Corbin and the solid type backrest. This backrest is for sale, but wouldn't fit the SG styling since it has the RK black/chrome studs. You should be able to find one on Ebay without much trouble.
I was in the new Ormond Beach Florida store today and tried out a new seat with backreast and it wasn't one of the dounut things. Great seats, but dang, them things are a bit pricey.
I ride with a Corbin and I love it - this is my third Harley since 96 and each has had a Corbin. I am lucky enough to live 1.5 hour ride away from Corbin - I do there "ride in appt". each time I have opted to NOT have the back rest hole in the seat - wish I would have left the hole - I would like to try a back rest... My wife has only had a Corbin under her since 96. Last July we did a "Fly and Ride" out of Boston on a RG - after a week on the stock Road Glide seat - $$$$$$ for her and a comfortable seat is Not an issue - by the end of the week she would have given anything for her Corbin.... For those of us that have back issues later in life - a good back rest is worth its weight in Gold. I bought a http://www.backaline.com/ a few years back and it can extend my riding day by severl hours...
doyou find that the Corbin seat reduced your "touch the ground" range any.with my 32" inseam it seemed likeI had lost an inch or two with the wider seat area. also seems like the seat set me back just a little bit further than I'm used to.
not disliking, but just different. no doubt after just a few hours in/on the saddleall would or will seem normal and comfortable again. or maybe I just need to go the appointment/custom option.
do you know if there is a price increasewhen going for the custom set-up as opposed to the out of the box option?
When my seat was made it was done during a "ride in appt" Meaning, I made an appt at the factory for 8am,,, arrived and met with the seat maker, we talked over options, a basic seat was made - both my wife and I sat on the seat and talked about what we wanted - work was done - then a test ride and back for more "tweeking" this was done until after Lunch - then when the seat was just the way we wanted it - it was covered and we were on our way home by 3pm with a seat that fit our Butts - to answer your question... I have had a Corbin on a Fat Boy, Wide Glide and now on the FL - Corbing told me that because of the way the seat fits the Touring bikes as compared to the WG - the Nose of the seat can not be made as small - However, I have short legs and when wearing my Red Wing boots {tall heels} my feet just reach the ground flat footed. And when making the seat - I told them how close I wanted to be - this is the beauty of a custom seat - you and the maker are together with the seat - take a little off here + add some there... Perfect.
When ordering over the phone or internet or off ebay - thatseat is made for the "common" rider - who ever that might be... You can order a Close seat - Caution, when talking to Corbin, Keep a very good log on who you talk to and what is said and what time/date it is... I have read real horror stories... Still I love my seat
