Adding HD BOOM bag speakers and fairing amp to 2012 FLHX. Already installed the ZUmo GPS and interface to the HK radio. Instructions with the amp call for me to disconnect existing connections 4/5 in the 6a/6b connector, which are the CAN bus connections from the GPS interface into the HK. I stopped in at the dealer - they had no idea, other than to pay them to figure it out. Dealer tech said he's only seen one similar install, on a CVO Road Glide and he had to "splice some wires", didn't know which ones...
Basic question is - can the CAN Bus wires from separate devices just be paralleled or is there a separate port for each device connected to the bus. Looking at the schematics , it looks like they can be paralleled, but then they call it a SERIAL bus, which usually infers one connection per port.
This is in addition to the rear speaker cables having the wrong connectors on the amp end (I dug up some Amphenol female pins the right size to plug into the 35 pin plug) and about 15 feet of extra cable on every freaking accessory cable they sell...(trying to stuff it all in the batwing)
