Default Ride in the Rain

I have a 2011 Limited I rode over a 100 miles in the rain yesterday, my face was sprayed the whole time from around the fuel tank. Is there a secret to riding ultra limited such that your face is not soaked? Tried setting the wind deflectors in different positions and the moving the lower fairing wind deflectors, but nothing seemed to keep my face dry.

The only way I can ride in the rain is with my 3/4 helmet and full face shield. Haven't tried a full face helmet, that would probaly work even better. Last year, going from Houston to Daytona. We road 360 miles in the rain with no problems. Just a thought, you mite try it.

I attached the HD dish scoop under the triple tree. They used to come stock but HD quit putting them on sometime around 2008.
No matter what you use you're going to get spray in the face. I always use a 3/4 helmet with a flip down face shield and a bandana around my lower face and tucked in to the rain suit. I carry a box of the HD rain wipes with the rain suits. When the rain starts I wipe down the windshield and face shield. The coating lasts for about 1/2 hour in steady rain.

Full face helmet will keep you dry. I always wear a skid lid but will pull out the full face if I know it's going to be a steady rain.

Hmmm. My SG doesn't shoot water at my face. Obviously you are going to get a little wet but nothing blinding or anything and I wear half helmet

I've seen some people tie a hand towel to the bars & drape it towards the tank, I've personally never had a problem. How fast were you riding? I've found you get wetter the slower you go so I usually keep my speed up unless it's really pouring, & then I usually find a place to pull over, safely out of every ones way, unlike the cage drivers that pull off wherever.

We got caught in a frog drowner last Saturday on the interstate during a ride. Pouring down (and small hail for a few minutes) I know we're gonna get soaked.
Looked down at the front of the gas tank and I saw drops of water "floating" up in slow motion Have the scoop under the tree, but still get the water coming up and the mist aimed at my chin.
Thinking about trying the fork deflectors, but I dunno...

I kept at the speed limit (70mph), just seemed to get a lot of spray coming up under the fairing and over the gas tank. I was using a 3/4 helment but spray seemed to drift up inside the shield, a least enough that I had to wipe it every few miles. Thanks for the suggestions.

I stop eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I like pie anytime it is raining.
