Got clipped yesterday while sitting at a stop sign. The impact hit my right side bag and blew it into the intersection. It is toast. I was hoping to leave on a trip this week and need a replacement pronto. Do they come painted or are they paint to match. I have little faith in my local dealers parts ability and they have no recognition of urgency.
Where do I start looking for a new one? I have tried to find an online parts fisch with limited luck so no part numbers as pf yet. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. EW
Btw, im not a freak, the sumo avatar must be a virus, I cant get rid of it and have asked admin for help.
I don't think anyone stocks new painted bags/parts? Maybe a black one? They can be ordered but 2 weeks would be really fast. Best bet is craigs list, ebay but Ya sure won't get one that matches (if at all) in your time frame. Maybe a buddy will let ya borrow one for your trip?
Six to twelve weeks is about the rule of thumb for anything painted I have ever ordered from the MOCO. No, the fact that you needed it yesterday has no bearing. It is pretty much "take it or leave it" on their part.
You might start by putting this add in the "Want to Buy" section of the classified's and say what bag and color that you are looking for.
That would be a good place to start I would think.
Black is the most common color and probably the easiest to find.
There a whole bunch of them for sale on ebay.
Thanks for the responses and leads. Was hoping for cash n carry but looks like that won't be happening. Truth is I was so pissed when it happened that I threw the damaged bag in the local dumpster. After looking at a parts fisch I drove 3 hours back and just went dumpster diving. Got it. After a calmed down look at it I think I can get away with new tub, lid, and the spring body clips. Latch and hinges were good. Off to do some surfing, thanks again all. EW
Help.....Need replacement bag for 09 SG................

First, ya gotta get rid of your current girl. Then you can generally find a new one at a bar, at a mall, a friends wedding, heck sometimes even a funeral is a good place to pick up a new bag

You did well recovering your bag's grizzled remains and hardware. The total cost of everything that goes into a bag is jaw dropping.
My understanding on painted parts is that the factory do small batches of each color. It can take many weeks, especially for older colours. You might be luckier with a current colour.
