Default mini apes??

I have a couple questions for those who use them. I have a street glide and am trying to get a little more comfortable for the longer rides. Do they help your shoulder/back areas? How do you know what size to get? I dont want the real tall apes that go much over the fairing...just something to bring my hands up a little bit more.

Thanks for any help!

I have the HD mini apes on my Fatboy Lo. They were a substantial improvement over the stock bars. They would be perfect with another 2".

I have PYO MBB 10's. They are in my sig pic. They are a billion times more comfortable for long and short rides and they look bada$$ too!

I have a thing about the bars going over the fairing so this is as high as I will go. I do think the 12's would be more comfortable. Also most say you should go about 2 more inches then you think you should.

BTW I'm 6 foot with a 32 inseam. What year SG?

At the top of the Touring section there is a 'Sticky' on Touring handlebars. Every question I had was answered (well practically all) in that thread. I would start there.

I have the Santee 11"s for that very same reason. The Santee is a very good bar, not quite on par with the Wild 1's but darn close. With the Chubby's (Wild 1's) I've seen heat grips along with internal wiring.

I had mine installed with internal wiring but the HD shop wouldn't or couldn't retain the heated grips. Not really a problem because you can always go to heated gloves.

I have had several sets of apes and the advice I ignored on my first two was dead on, always go with the bars that are the taller of the two you are looking at. For a SG, I would not go shorter than 12".
