When I start my 2009 Ultra cold I get a lot of lifter noise. It will tick pretty loud until it is warmed up. This can take 5 miles or so. I want to stick in new lifters. Should I use stock again or aftermarket?
I have an 09 Ultra and the engine started ticking at 15000 miles. I knew I had to have it checked and was wanting the SE 103 Big Bore installed at that time. I had new SE lifters and push rods installed all at the same time. My mechanic did find one of my lifters leaking down thus the ticking when cold. Have it checked and new ones installed.
For less than $70 you can get a whole set of VThunder lifters. They are an excellent product. http://www.compperformancegroupstore..._Code=LFTRPHRL

Screaming Eagle tapered pushrods are an excellent product and they are competitively priced.

I like the Gaterman 1023 performance lifters. They have 5 oil feed holes rather than 2 most other lifters have. PM me if you're interested in more info regarding Gaterman lifters.
Only heard the cold tick once and that was when it was new in March and probably the first time the bike was started after delivery. No problems in all the starts in the 3000+ miles since then.
