EFI tuning issues
Ineed some help. I have a 2010 roadking with an american custom decatted header V&H air cleaner 4in rineharts and a V&H fuelpak.I thought i could through all this stuff on and be done with it. But its not working out that way.First of all vance and hines fuepak settings does not list my decatted header on a map instead they use a map based on power duels, well ill tell you it ran like ***.Called them and they had me change some settings and it still doesnt run good. Called Jamie at fuelmoto and he said he could sell me a pcv setup for my addons.Im thinking about doing it even though i will be out for the fuelpak but i could probably sell it.I just want to add a tuner and be done!Im not sure what to do.Would i be better off just going to the harley shop and letting them tune it? I dont plan on doing any other mods to my bike i just want it tuned and be done.I dont want to buy a pcv from fuelmoto and still have problems, what do you people think i should do? Im not looking for a perfect dyno tune but i do know the fuelpak is way off.Suggestions please.
Here's a starter clue for ya, http://www.fuelmotousa.com/testimonials.htm Also check the search for treads.
Not too familiar with the FuelPak, but if I remember correctly you can adjust for the mods you've made. Check out the V&Hs webpage, I think there is a "settings" or "map" tab that will give you the numbers to dial into your mods...I'm too lazy to look it up & post a link right now.
Get rid of that junk fuel pak. I had one and I couldn't bring myself to even sell it to a fellow rider they suck that much.
A pcv is what I'm running now. It's got my bike(106) at 107hp/115tq and 50mpg.
I wouldn't recommend a fuel pak to anyone, unless I was racing them and they had the other lane.

Ditto on the fuel pak. They are junk. You won't go wrong working with moto, they'll set you straight.

Thunder Max - If you don't like any of the stock maps, you can change them. Although it's not really necessary, since it is a self learning system...
I think going to a PCV will be a step in the right direction however, if your expecting to plug it in and forget about it that may not be the case. I had to tweak the timing tables to eliminate a pinging problem. The map was pre-loaded from Fuel Moto with specific instructions that it must address pinging. It was a close map and ran great with the exception that the timing was advanced in many tables making the pinging worse until I retarded a bunch of tables. This isn't a slam the people at FM are awesome, but a cautionary tale that if you expect the PCV to be perfect with no need to do anything, that may or may not be the case and you should keep that option open.
