Default Smart Security Problem

Just received my 68200-07A Smart Security system I bought on ebay for my 2012 Street Glide. It was advertised to be new. Plugged it up and was starting the procedure to marry it to the ECM. Switched the bike on and oh crap! the turn signals started flashing and the bike won't turn over. It looks like someone has either programmed it to another bike or tried to. It came with 2 (new in the plastic) fobs.

Is there a solution to this or does it need to be returned to sender? I sure would like to use it but I can't get it into programming mode. Switching the bike on just sets the alarm off.

There maybe a tab you need to pull out of the fob for battery to contact. If not I dunno. Good luck. Also check for battery in fob.

Maybe the fobs need a battery change?

No the fobs will have to be programmed to the module by the dealer. The problem is that the security module won't program to the bike.

+1 Its not "plug & play" the dealer needs to program the Fob(s).

The TSM/TSSM will not enter configuration mode on the first
attempt after battery voltage has been removed from terminal
1. This will occur after any of the following situations:

Battery disconnect or power drain.

Battery fuse or maxi-fuse removal.

Connecting Breakout Box to TSM/TSSM connector.

Therefore, after all battery reconnects, the configuration
sequence must be modified as follows.

1. Set run switch to OFF, cycle ignition key ON-OFFON-OFFON
and press left turn signal switch
twice.
2. Repeat step listed above.
3. Continue with configuration sequence listed.

This might apply to you:

ACTUATION
1. See a Harley-Davidson dealer to activate the key fob to
the TSSM, HFSM or BCM.
NOTE
You can activate the TSSM fob by referring to the procedure

in the electrical diagnostic manual

I was in the same boat awhile back and bought what I thought was a "new" tssm. I could not get it to marry to the bike so I caved in and took it to the dealer to have them use the digi thingamabob. Turns out the tssm had a bad code on it and was not "new" Luckily the ebay seller returned it without any issue. Anyway maybe run it by the dealer and see if they can marry it. But yes the fob will definitely need to me programmed by dealer

That will not work on his bike. That procedure was for the older model security fobs. Pre 06? I believe maybe older. The ones that were not proximity fobs. For the OP it will have to be done at a dealer. No way around it
