Default Adjusting idle?

Can I lower my idle? Kinda like that loping sound of carbed older bikes

I'd advise against it, you'll lose some oil pressure at idle.

Bike needs to idle at 1000RPM for proper oil pressure....your not going to be able to lower it to sounds like the Potato Potato Potato sound of yesterday with doing some harm.

it is not so much the carb--- although coarse atomization of fuel contributes, earlier motors were low compression, the shovel and earlier were hemi headed motors, the spark ignition was weak and early years the spark timing was manual ( left grip).

If you have a bitchin' stereo, I will sell you a cd of my panhead idling.

That's some funny chit right there! I'll give you the same deal on a CD of my shovelhead idling with 2" drag pipes, then you don't have to listen to all that valve train noise coming from those Panhead "tins". I'm surprised some yo-yo at a bike night ain't done that yet, killer stereo, back up to the curb, start the CD and sit there with a nice big cam, straight pipe, early year lope playin' through the speakers ...... we used to call it the shovelhead shuffle. 'Course, guess you don't wanna do that and make all the rest of the bikes sound bad, including your own.

Ha! I've got a CD that has a hot bike starting and reving in the beginning. Have had some fun with friends faking the start of my bike as we were about to leave. Forgot about it, will have to resurrect the CD.

+1 Years ago, had a friend who had an "electric only" shovel ..... no kicker. He picked up a kicker cover and rigged it with a spring so the kicker would return, but never put the internals in it to make it a real kicker. He would leave the bar, jump on the kicker at the same time he hit the button. Damn bike always started on the first kick.

actually many of you have already heard my panhead...

some of my bikes were recorded about 20 years ago for sound effects on The Simpsons.
