1000 rpm, plus or minus 50 is where the late model touring bikes really, really, need to idle for proper oil pressure and to keep the oil squirting on the bottom of the pistons. The potato-potato-potato sound has gone the way of American made Harley Davidsons.

Add cams and a tuner will get ya closer safer. No oil pressure means big troubles.

Thanks, didn't know about it losing too much oil pressure, geuss I'll just have to listen to the smooth idle for now.........until I decide to upgrade the cams or get a CD LOL!

And the now cast cranks don't need another reason to fail. Loping causes additional strain on the lower end. Run 950 - 1050.
