Default FLHR 2012 windshield advice

First off, I love the new 103" RK. All day comfort. At 6'1" i'm looking through the top of the shield...Not too bad, though.
I'd like to be able to look over it with minimal turbulence.
Clearview and Klock Werks make polycarbonate shields with a top recurve.
Does anybody out in Road king land have experience with either of those two products on thier RK's...Size matters.

Those I have talked to have reccomended going to a glazier an having the stock windshield cut down... Its a much less expensive option

I have a 19" LRS (about 3" shorter than stock), I'm 5-10, perfect for me, but if you're 6-1 and looking through the stock shield, the 19" LRS might be right for you. And not very expensive, plus you get a nice flare at the top that helps a lot, that you wouldnt get with cutting down your stock shield.

Same here, I have the LRS 19" and I'm 6'....the stock seat has me looking right over the top, but with the recurve I don't get any wind.

Default RK windshield

I heard that the LRS was not a polycarbonate and of cheaper quality.
There were some complaints on this site of failure.

just cut it down yourself. its easy to do\...check this site for threads...basically mask, cut with sabor saw and sand the edge and then put some plastic polish on the edge to finish it off...I did the one on my 11 flhrc, it took about an hour

I have a Clearview 16" with the recurve and it works great for me. I'm 5'10" and I can see over it and I can all so see the recurve at the top works good to.
I would think a 18" or something close to that would work for you...good luck.

I like looking through the shield, there's less turbulence and that's the way I prefer it.

Just to show how subjective things are, I'm 5'11 and have tried both the 19"" LRS and the Klockworks Billborad Flare. The OEM Shield works the best for me after trying both of them, I went back to it.
