I have a 19" LRS (about 3" shorter than stock), I'm 5-10, perfect for me, but if you're 6-1 and looking through the stock shield, the 19" LRS might be right for you. And not very expensive, plus you get a nice flare at the top that helps a lot, that you wouldnt get with cutting down your stock shield.
I have the same shield and if I would have known how much I was going to like it I would have done it a long time ago. It's been on the bike about 5k with no issues.

I've seen one complaint and LRS was quick to reply to the OP with a solution.
