Default Fitting a fairing

I own a 2005 Road King Classic FLRHCI. I happened upon a fellow wishing to sell the outer fairing from a 2007 Ultra Classic FLHTUC. I believe the modification for the Ultra fairing to fit the Road King is complicated. My thought would be to run the Ultra fairing much like a Memphis Shade fairing. Has anyone experience with such a modification?

I researched this and found out that the modification is complicated (i.e. expensive). A dealer told me about $3,000 in parts ... which I interpreted to mean, just buy an OEM HD fairing from him ... Hmmmmm

If you want a batwing with all the bells and whistles, there is a lot of electrical stuff in it! Also some of the gauges will need sensors on your bike that are not currently there. There are after-market alternatives you could consider, which you can fit whatever you like in. Mine is an early 80s glass-fibre one, completely empty!
