I use M1 V2 oil and usually change it 5K miles but if I was on the road, I would go 6K and not worry about it. If you use dino oil then maybe 5K would be the max but again, a few hundred miles over the normal is not a big deal. Highway miles is one thing vs sitting in traffic cooking the oil is another. Just things to consider.

At 5001 miles, the bike will go into Limp Home mode to protect itself. And the warranty will be voided due to the satellite tracking system, the moco will know.

I've never made it to the 5K mark. oil gets changed every year which always results in less than 5K miles on the oil. Oil breaks down due to miles and time. It's odd that in cars the oil has a miles or time change interval but on bikes it's only miles.

I always carry enough oil and a filter to change it on the side of the road if necessary. That extra few miles to get to the nearest dealer just might be the ones that grenade the freakin' thing.

Same here. Just changed the oil in my RK early in prep for an upcoming trip.
