I agree, that would be better than the 26" wheels.
But I don't think I want a 180 on the front, but I know he's just pushing it to get noticed.

I do think that the wider tire on front looks pretty cool, but I would loose the fender. I like the wrapped look
I also have a 21" front wheel and while I've only had my EG for a couple days, I seriously dont see what the big deal is. Im sure a fatter front tire with more sidewall rides even softer, but I mean its a motorcycle, not a Cadillac. Sometimes, I half expect people to start complaining about wind noise while riding

i think they are talking 26" and 30" with the raked front ends...thats the trend ....the 21 have gone by the wayside several years ago

okay, y'all educate me...would a wider front tire be less likely or more likely to follow imperfections in the road? and would that be a deciding factor for touring?

Less likely, bigtime.

There is a tradeoff somewhere around the stability of a wide tire, and turning radius. I don't know what the math is, but I have heard it enough times that I believe it.

My FatboyLo had a pretty crummy turning radius (140 front/200 rear) but it was also lower than other Softails by an 1"+. It seems that my RGC can turn sharper, which is pretty counter-intuitive. (RGC has 130 front/ 180 rear)

I love what Native Custom Baggers is doing! Saw the bike in person, and the front looks great! When he says 'big wheels" I believe he means the 23, 26, and 30 inch bikes, not 21's. You shoulda seen some of the 30" bikes that were in Muskegon for Bike Time this year. I would take the fat front tire anyday over those!

yeah..i know Native has been building some of the racked , larger diameter front wheel baggers , but for paul to build his personal bike with the wide front says to me ....hes on to something...its about the handling / looks....vs. just looks

The only thing I don't think makes sense on that bike are the bags. I'll bet they are fine going down a desert highway but just too close to the ground for practical use. I'd be tearing the bottoms off with 1 trip around the block.

I think he mentioned having air rides on the bike, and probably lifts the bike up when he rides and slams it when he parks it.

He did mention that it raises about 3 inches when riding, and that he doesn't slam it to the ground when down, in case you lose air while you are riding. It would not be safe to be scraping the ground if you lost air while riding.
