I decided to get an Anniversary CVO Roadking. I had been waiting on two things to happen, one they do a CVO Road King, and two I like the colors ....my dealers Owner and a couple of guys are at the dealer show and one of the guys are sending pics and info. I told him I wanted one and he said he would let the owner know. He told me the owner said he would make sure I got one......... But, I read there are only going to be about 900 produced. I ask him if I need to get over to the dealership and put down the deposit and sign a contract and he told me they knew I was good for it.
I want to make sure I was on the top of the list and wouldn't missout do to limited production.
So I call another dealer. He tells me come and put a deposit down and when one happens to come in I would be first. I asked couldn't I order one ? You know, like a new car. You tell them what you want then 8 weeks later your car gets there. He said they can't do that. The MoCo has some weird formula for sending out CVO's...Number of units sold, profit margines, parts sales, service numbers. That they use them as a reward to dealers.
Called another dealer. He said he would take a deposit, would give me an order number from Harley, but couldnt tell me when it would get there because they cant really control that.
No you cannot order one.
The dealer will get a list of what they are getting and when they will get them.
The dealer is not in control of CVO models.
Last year my dealer got my CVO the first day of the new models the end of July,
but he didn’t get a Road Glide CVO until November and his second Street Glide CVO until January.
Wow, I have always heard being a rich man is tough. Guess maybe now I believe it. They got you by the short hairs. Sorry..There is a 2012 silver/black CVO for $38k at Steel Horse Harley in Richmond. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/hdfor...18-august.html

they will be on Ebay soon, you will start to see the first ones on there, contact that dealer and see if it is worth it to you to go get it
this much you can be sure of, throw the MSRP out the window on that bike, first CVO roadking in how many years? plus an anniversary year, ouch
I would easily bet that EVERY dealer that does get their hands on one is gonig to have $5000 add on to the already staggering price and put that thing near $40k
Very Jealous of you, I think that's a hell of a nice looking bike and if I hadn't bought a Street Glide this year, I would probably be very seriously considering trying to snag one of those Road Kings myself. Please post some pictures when you manage to get a hold of one...

I agree with TexasFatBoy also... however... dealers make trades on bikes much like car dealerships do. I know my local dealer sold at least 3 CVO Road Glides last year, and 6 CVO SG's... most were dealer trades. It sounds like you have a good relationship with your local dealer... I would wait until they get back from the dealer show/meeting and go talk to him face to face. A dealership can do a search for any bike and find out exactly how many of that particular bike are sitting on other dealer sales floors and where they are located... therefore your local guy should know when the CVO Roadkings start to deliver to dealerships if he does a search regularly.
