Primary leak.
Interesting! When I went to pull the bike out of the garage for the ride to work this morning I noticed a quarter sized drop of oil under the primary. I immediately thought the worst, primary or trans seal based on all of the negative publicity on here about such things. Thankfully, it was just the drain plug. It was loose but when I went and re-torqued it to spec, pieces of the o-ring squeezed out the sides in some small shreds? I always change the o-rings when I change fluids and I don't over torque (Always lowest recommended torque spec) so I can only assume it was a defective o-ring. I guess its time to change the fluid again? I snugged up the drain plug a little more but it is definately still weeping. Not dripping now though...good enough to Ride on for today!
When I change fluids I clean the drain plug really good-especially where the O ring sits. I also apply a good film of oil to the O ring before and after installing it on the plug and like you, I don't torque the plug real tight. I feel like this allows the plug to slip on the O ring as it's tightened and prevents tearing of the O ring. I still get the occasional buggered up O ring but usually I'm able to reuse it a few times before replacing. No leaks yet.
