I have narrowed this down to either of these two brands..............Dead Center or Reckless. The Reckless Fairing is cheaper than the unit Dead Center offers, however cheaper isn't always better.

Since this is a big purchase for me I want to do everything I can so as to get the best one for my money. So my question is to you folks that have these two fairings...............Which one is the better of the two and why is one better than the other?

Will Harley accessories fit either of these fairings or are you stuck buying accessories from the fairing manufacturer?

Appreciate any advice.............Thanks.
wndchsr2,

Did you ever make a decision on which fairing?

Default Just bought a dragonfly

Hi, I just bought a dragonfly for my 2013 Deluxe. I did a lot of research and for me this was the highest quality with the best options. I talked to Hoppe and Dead Center, probably the two most similar and Dragonfly just has better quality and options that Hoppe and Dead Center.

For instance, better all weather stereo, built in ipod dock for no upcharge, lockable to the bike, better speakers. Plus Tom was really good to work with.

I am having it painted to match my ember red sunglo/birch white deluxe. I am having them paint it similar style to the Ultra Limited Electra Glide.

I have Dead Center.

I consider them the absolute best in "Quality" and "Service".

Yes I've also checked out the others.

I ordered a reckless fairing this past weekend and when I called to request two minor changes from the normal order, the lady on the phone said no, but I can cancel the order for you if you'd like. So I told her to cancel the order.

I ordered a unit with the upgraded infinity unit and the 6x9 polk speakers. Since there were going to be two channels not being used for the speakers I asked if they could bridge two channels into each speaker and she said no. Then I asked what the lead time was going to be and she said six to 8 weeks. I asked her when they were planning on running my credit card and she said it would be processed today. I asked her if she could delay running it until the fairing was closer to ship so I didn't have a $1,000 charge on my card for a full month before I received the fairing and she said no, and referred back to being able to cancel my order. She seemed as though she almost WANTED to cancel my order so I let her. If that was the attitude I was getting before I even received their products, I know dang good and well that there would probably not be any customer service AFTER I got the unit if I had any problems with it. From my limited experience with this company I would never buy anything from them. They seem like real "pieces of work."

I am always amazed at how different people have such different experiences with the same company. My experience was good. That was a few years ago so maybe things have changed. I did not get any warm fuzzies from them last year at Sturgis. I did not see Alex there either. Maybe they have new people, maybe new owners, maybe the company just changed due to reason we do not know about. As a note, we actually do the same here as far as billing on custom orders. Even regular customer are 50% up front, otherwise it is considered a quote and not an order. Everyone who calls and gives their card to be processed before you release your card is put in line in front of you. It is the only fair way to place orders on longer lead time items. If you want off the shelf, well be happy. If you want another brand, be happy with them.

Default Reckless customer service is more like it

I literally got off the phone with them about an hour ago and I too got the distinct feeling they do not want to sell me anything, they are at least 6 weeks out and she joked that they need more workers to make the fairings. It was this could care less attitude that swayed me over to Woody's. dead Center lost me with the price... $1275.00 for an empty fairing is crazy, as compared to several competitors at $750-$800. That being said, Woody's has real good reviews and that is the way I am going... just my $.02!

Agree 1000%

2013 RKC and I had installed in previously on 2003 RKC. Called DCC and asked for new wiring harness for new RKC and they sent it in 3 days.

Couple pics.
