Along with my heated grips they extend my riding season at least 3 months. I am using the set that came off of my 01 Eglide, I was going to paint match them but have decided I like the contrast of the black/purple. If you do a search you will find this subject has been beat to death, some like em, some don't, I say do what ever floats your boat.

I just put lowers on my SG. I like the way they look...I'm assuming they will be very nice in cool temps.

BTW. I got the Hogg Chopps lowers. They have a bit more of a 'custom' look for the sleek Street Glide.

have the lowers with adjustable vents. leave them on year round. work great when it's raining.. my feet stay dry. only thing on me that gets much rain unless its a complete downpourt are my knees and the outer edges of my shoulders.. also help a lot when it's below 50....

they also look good.. the front end looks like it's missing something without them.

I have a set because I installed speakers in them, but they do work for rain, and the look is starting to grow on me.

I put a set of the vented lower fairing on my Road King. I took them off one summer and that afternoon I get hit in the shin by a June bug, thought I got shoot. The next day I got caught in the ran and was soaked from the knees down. The next day the lowers went back on and the haven't been back of since.
