i have an 06 glide and i am considering putting lowers with the glove boxes on....has anyone added this to their glide and if so did you like the look and finish afterwards?
Just installed them on my 07 RG. My bike is the pewter pearl color and the color of the matching lower fairing was spot on. The finish is very nice. The inside is a flat black color. They work great, especially for me here in the northeast. My only gripe is that for $649 the glove boxes should have been included. They're asking $110 for each, that's another $220. So I did not install the glove boxes this winter; they don't even hold that much stuff. The only reason I would get the glove boxes would be to cover the 2 little holes that support the glove box, without the boxes it looks like something is missing because of the holes. Otherwise the lowers look fine without them. I might just find something that would fill the holes and color match it. If that doesnât work then Iâll have to get the glove boxes next year to complete the look. Aside from that, I love the protection lower fairing offer. Itâs been in the low 40âs here in the morning and I havenât had the need to use chaps. My pants donât even flap when Iâm doing 70. I also like the way they look on the bike, kind of sporty. I would even keep them on year round but HD doesnât over the vented ones for RG. Iâll probably end up getting one of those vent kits. I highly recommend the lower fairing. BTW, I saw a couple of aftermarket ones and those looked cheap.
I have had mine on since day 1. Ordered the lowers same day I ordered the bike. This is my second FLTRI with lowers......what does THAT tell ya? I love 'em. Fit is great, offers more protection than the FLHTC series......almost no gap between the upper and lower fairing. I personally think the bike looks 100% better with the lowers.
guys, thanks for the quick response. i am going to order them tomorrow. i have a silver 06 and they don't come colour matched so i am going to buy the primed for paint ones and have a local shop paint'em up for me. i will add the glove boxes at the same time too..great forum you have here, thanks once again.

Hi guys, I don't have a Glide but, I just installed a set on my RKClassic and love them! Just a reminder for you folks. I learned of a good supplier for HD parts on this forum and have used them three times now..... Zanotti's http://www.zanottimotor.com/ They are a Harley/Honda/Yamaha dealer. I bought my painted Black Cherry vented lowers (#58854-05BPS) for $493.99 (list $649.00). Go to their site and punch in the part number your looking for.
A buddy of mine who is now dead was the absolute best slow racer that ever lived.
He would tear off from the starting line like it was a drag race. When he got half way to the finish line, he would shut the bike off, put his feet up over the bars & light a cigarette & sit that way without moving as long as necessary. When everybody else was eliminated, he would reach down & restart the bike & then tear like crazy to the finish line -it was an amazing thing to watch..........
Lowers work great on RG, Flatbush.
Just put them on recently for cold weather and will probably leave them on.
Late getting pics as weather was not great here last few weeks.
