My spark plugs have me a little concerned Im running to lean ...they are showing some whitish reside around the tip ... a little history ... I have a 2010 Road King ..Stage 1 with TTS Mastertune installed by the Dealer upon purchase .... about a year ago i replaced the cat with a Fuelmotto Headpipe and changed to 2.5 Rush baffles from the 2.0's ... so i have changed the back pressure going to the larger baffles... Bike runs Great ... Sounds just like I like it and only "pops" on decel if I allow it to.... Im happy with it except my plugs arent tan color .... My dealer is 2 1/2 hours away that works with the TTS Mastertune as local dealer wont.... Its a major hassle to get the wife to drive over and back twice ... plus its expensive .... is there a cheaper and easier way to richen the bike .. like the xieds or some other option ... or would this just be kinda dumb on my part considering its already been tuned using the TTS .... Looking for some options or opinions or am i clueless ...
Let me know ... I have thick skin ... lol
THANKS !!!!
....I dont have....an.... answer to your question.... but... since you mentioned you have think skin.... I thought I'd make fun..... of your writing... style. LOL
Get a service manual. I have one and was concerned that I was running lean. After checking my plugs with the pics and description I found out I was running just right. Mine are a little white with a small tan discoloration. Unless it's bright white and has white flakes, you should be ok. Now there are many other guys on here with way more experience than me, so I would take a pic post it and ask them for their opinions as well.
Whats wrong with my writing style ???? : ) .... I actually didt think they would have pics of plugs in a service manual ... duh ..... I tried to post some pics but couldnt figure it out .... work with me here ... i will keep trying ... lol
You had it tuned, then made some other changes, it should be retuned for optimum performace. Whitish plugs on an EFI don't tell you anything useful about your tune condition, if you want to know if its running lean, you need to hook it up to a sniffer.
Since you have a tts tuner why not make some vtune runs and tune it yourself. Go to the tuner thread if your not familiar with tuning yourself. I ran the tts on my dyna and tuned it myself with the help of the tuner thread.
