So 1st gear is still useable? I read elsewhere where one rider didn't like it. I just ordered my DD6 today and I'm tossing the idea of getting the 37T clutch basket. The DD6 comes with the 28T gear so it will be just like the 3.37 and only raise my rpms 200 in 6th. I was only concerned if 1st is still useful.
I've got factory 3:37 gearing. '99-'01 FI bikes came with 3:37. I've never really felt the need for a 6th gear. I've put 64k miles on my bike, most of it on the interstate, the extra revs over the 3:15 bikes doesn't bother me. I like to twist the throttle in high gear and go.
Baker's website says the DD6 6th gear is a 1 to 1 ratio. Once you swap out the engine sprocket that is supplied, it makes it equivilent to a .89 OD. Healso said that I have the 3.24 1st gear. I'm not sold on the 3.37 setup. I drive mostly on the interstate and wanted the 6th speed to lower the rpms. If I went with the 3.37, it would only reduce is a couple hundred.

28/37 will yield a net 3.32 5th.....its the only way to go, especially if you get the deepest 6th

Anyone got the HD P/N's needed to complete this job? I have a feeling my stealership is not going to know what the heck I'm talking about at the parts counter! [:@]
