Please to explain, I must be thick, Why do we or they do "this"?

I think you will find that RG owners put more miles on their bike in the first 2 years than ANY other bike or trike sold by the motor company. Tracked by the mother ship during warranty work records. I think that anyone that doesnt appreciate other bikes for their look or what ever, but the bs that is spouted all the time about the radio reach, or the buffetting or the rider, or was it the passenger, probably both, oh yeah, the headlights dont turn with the handle bars, or the lighter is gonna hit the tank when u turn too hard... and there are more!?

taste great - less filling type of thing. To the OP - Rent each and you decide. I rode a Ultra limited for 50 miles and a RGU for 50 - then bought the RGU.

There is more wind and less protection from the RG simply because the fairing is farther away. I found everything else was actually better with the RG. The closeness of the batwing bothered me. Fell like it was too much in my face... I came from a dyna/Road King..

But, I do love my road glide.

The Road Glide is way too much bike for most riders. Start small with a bat wing is what I say.

i have the 12'' windsplitter. no barn door for me. i'm short, and i like to look over the shield, not through it. deflectors under the fairing are cheap, $30 maybe, and some guys do add lowers. as much for the storage or speakers as for wind management.

guys with batwings tend to add those funny little flaps on the sides of their fairings. then they follow up with fairing lowers. its not rocket science why they tend to do this DOH!

I purchased my '12 Road Glide Custom in BBP three weeks ago. I was comparing a '12 Street Glide in the same color. I also rented the Street Glide but when I test road the RG I was sold. I came from a Dyna. I put the 12 inch wind splitter and couldn't be happier.

Ive got the itch that since everyone around has a streetglide, I was thinking being different with looks and color. What will I expect with the differences in these bikes??
I was in your same predicament about a year ago trying to decide. I had my mind made up that the Street Glide was what I was getting. Thought the Roadie was the ugliest thing on the planet. Funny thing is, while I was waiting for the deal to be done on a 2010 Street Glide, I sat on a Roadie just for sh*ts and giggles. OMG! What a mistake that was!! Then I went for a test drive and holy crap! It handled like a hot knife through butter! This is my very first Harley after many years on rockets (most recently 2008 GSX-R 1000) and the Roadie made me feel waay more confident than that Street Glide did (especially jumping on something like a Harley from a leaned over crotch rocket). Funny thing is, as I was pulling out of the dealer parking lot, I leaned too far and scraped the footboards, thought I got a bad bike due to the scraping sound until I stood it back up. I did that same turn on the street glide numerous times and not once felt the need or the desire to lean it like I did with the Roadie. Needless to say, I cancelled the deal on the Street Glide and after a few months of deliberating, I ended up with the bike you see in the sig pic. Almost fell for the "Flavor Of The Month" Street Glide but now im so glad I didnt. Do yourself a favor and DONT RIDE THE ROADIE!!! You will be sold on it, I guarantee!
