Default Amp help

Can someone please point me in the direction or a link to a guide for an amp installation. I have been searching and can't seem to find one. Thanks in advanced or the help. By the way this site is great. Was a huge help for the radio and speaker removal today.

An Alpine KTP-445.

I'll be hooking it up to my Alpine radio.

Does your radio have 2 sets of pre-outs? (red & white patch cables) coming out of the back? How many speakers are you going to be running?

Yes the radio does have the hook ups. My problem is how do I tie it all together with the biketronicks hook up.

The biketronics harness and module is what you will use to tie the radio (Alpine) into your factory wiring harness... that portion of the install will have nothing to do with the amp. Once the radio portion is installed then you will use Audio patch cables to hook up the amp to the radio. You will need one set for each channel. Assuming you are running the amp in the fairing you want the shortest cables you can find. Then you will wire your speakers straight into the amp. Done! You will need to hook up the power supply and a good ground as well. Here is the link to some short amp cables.

Just to add a little something to prevent a mistake I made installing mine. When I hooked up the ground, I found a large screw near the battery that went straight into the frame. Looked like a perfect spot. Problem is I didn't "scrape" the paint where the connection was so my ground was faulty. I would go down the road and the system would stop after a few minutes. Good luck with the install

I would suggest that you look on the right hand side of steering neck and you should see a ground wire there. Just loosen the nut and out your ground wire for the amp right there.

Good luck!
