The Tail Of The Dragon was a blast. Did it 4 time in 24 hours. It is definitely doable for most any competent rider as long as you stay within your skill level (just ride it slower). It is very unforgiving of mistakes..Also watch out for the hot dogs on rice rockets. There we lots of idiots out there on Sunday. Monday was deserted. Better ride after the Dragon was the Cheraholla Skyway. Now that was spectacular!
Was there this past weekend. On the way up had exteme close call as well as my group of four others with another Harley of all things. Idiot way way too fast coming down towards fontana. Closest call ever for me, and how he is breathing I have no idea. He is very lucky as well as we are. Why would anyone in a dresser be so foolish. Beautiful ride otherwise, and weather was great. Pissed again just typing this . Idiot, he was.

Agree, I rode it on a Monday, no issues, nearly deserted. I'm not Mr. Knee Draggin Skillz by any means and found it challenging, but I was never nervous in any way. Very fun.
On the way out of town came across a bagged (ultra) on it's side pointed the wrong way in a ditch. Guy hotdoggin' and had a momentary lack of talent. Took 3 of us to get the bike off him. One helicopter ride later...broken thumb, ribs, vertebrae. Lucky sucker. Could have been a lot worse. Gotta respect the Dragon.

So completely unnecessary. Its not that hard. If you end up this way chance are you shouldn't be on a bike in the first place.
You guys are lucky you were there last weekend and not this weekend. It's 30 minutes from my house and I avoid it at all costs on summer holiday weekends. It's just too crowded for me.
We saw the heli as we were leaving as well. we were just wondering if it was the same bike that passed us earlier that sure would have put us in line for an air ride too. burg/red???dresser. He did have buddy w/ him not too far behind him as if they were purposely being wreckless. in any case , as said earlier, this does not have to happen. If it is the same bike, and would say probably is, i hope the guy the best, if and when he heals and as fate would have me to see him again, I would like to offer him my fist in his nose. Did I say IDIOT earlier? There are many beautiful rides here in mtns. I always offer to ride along when others come to visit or give suggestions if needed.
