If it was really really good to run the same oil in all three, then you wouldn't be able to buy specific oils for each now would you?

If you do nothing else then treat your trans to some Redline shockproof, or something similar.

SOOOOOOOOOO
Engine gets a 50/50 mix of Amsoil 60 Valvoline Racing 50 dino and a bottle of STP oil treatment

Primary gets 50/50 mix of Amsoil 60 and Royal Purple 20/50 Max Cycle

Trans gets a 50/50 mix of Redline HSP and Formula +

Then once a month a little fuel injection cleaner in the tank

Why? Because that's the mixture that I came up with that I liked the best.... for ME
thats ****ing awesome.

I use Redline 20-50 in motor
Redline Shockprook in tranny
and have been using Redline Primary, but after doing my 10k service yesterday and feeling more "clunk" when I shift, I think I'll be going back to HD Formula for the primary.

ENOUGH ALREADY!!!
Glad I could oblige ya with another random worthless thread on the internet.

I am just curious about the all in one vs. 3 different. Didnt see a thread on it other than "what kind of oil should i use threads" and I did my searching.

So having said that since I started this thread I decided to go with Syn3 in all three holes and I can say that I have noticed that shifting seems smoother, although I have no Idea what was in there previously. My buddy that has a 07 Road King decided to go syn3 in all 3 also and says he also noticed a smoother shifting compared to the tranny oil he bought at the local Harley stealership for the last 5 years.

Once again I have nothing to compare it too, thus the reason for asking questions and posting another "pointless" fluid poll

I always used amsoil 20/50 synthetic in all three holes after I got my bike.
I used to think it ran a little cooler? it sounded a little different,to me, but who knows.
Anyway after looking at 5 bearing tests and talking to lots of people and then calling Amsoil I went with the simplicity of one fluid all three holes, it makes it easier buying and storing one oil for all your needs, I used to get a case of filters and a case or two of oil and be set up for a while.
My 2 cents.
Opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one and other than your own they all stink.

I always figured they make different oils for different purposes, so that's what I do, but then it might be argued that metrics have one hole for everything, my answer to that is....I'm not on a metric, I'm on a Harley.
